What does Digital Product Passport (DPP) mean?
The Digital Product Passport (DPP) is an ESPR dataset for product data and compliance evidence.
Under ESPR, a product needs a DPP only when the applicable delegated act requires one. That act defines data fields, access levels, data carriers, placement and granularity at model, batch or item level.
Why does it matter for DPP and compliance?
For Nulara, the DPP is the central target object. It connects product identification, data model, evidence, access rights, updates and publication. Without solid data architecture, the data carrier is only a surface without reliable compliance.
What should teams prepare?
Teams should map product groups and data sources, then model required fields, access rights and update processes. The data-carrier strategy should then connect unique product identifiers, QR codes, GS1 Digital Link or other permitted identification means.
