What does EPREL mean?
EPREL is the EU product registry for models subject to energy labelling.
Since 1 January 2019, suppliers must register relevant models in EPREL before placing them on the EU market. The database separates public label and product data from compliance data and technical documentation for market surveillance authorities and the Commission.
Why does it matter for DPP and compliance?
EPREL is not an ESPR DPP, but it shows patterns for structured EU product data: registration before market placement, QR-code access to public label data, authority access and machine-readable information. These patterns are relevant for DPP architectures.
What should teams prepare?
Suppliers with EPREL-relevant products should structure master data, model versions, energy-label data, product information sheets, technical documentation and verification status so they can connect to DPP and market surveillance processes.
